The Star Made Me Buy It

 My first ad with Carole Lombard!!

'Daintiness' was a major female goal back in the day.  

The ad is from 1940, and mentions Carole's latest effort, They Knew What They Wanted. 

I can't think of a more unappealing movie title.  Why would I care if they knew what they wanted, if I don't even know who 'They' are?  And what if what it is they wanted is of zero interest to me?

However, I guess it's worth seeing, if only for Charles Laughton, who was great in absolutely EVERY movie he was in.
