Tuesday Song of the Week

Wow, it's nearly two months since our last TSotW.

But the wait was worth it!

I first heard this a couple weeks ago on World Cafe, during a two-hour block of songs about cats plus a tune or three from Cat Stevens.  

One of the other songs from that will be next week's TSotW. 

Speaking of cats, as I type this - and for the last half hour - the World's Cutest Cat has been crawling all over me, and making it somewhat difficult for me to get this done.

The Star Made Me Buy It

Today's star is the long-forgotten Diana Lynn in an ad for Royal Crown Cola:

She was part of a clump of pert brunettes from the late 1940s and '50s - Debra Paget, Joanne Dru, Karen Sharpe, Audrey Dalton, Dianne Foster  - who played love interests, or second female leads in tons of B movies of the time.  

Most ended up guest-starring on tons of TV shows in the 1960s and '70s.

Ms. Lynn had more talent than most, having been a piano prodigy who began taking lessons at age 4.

Sadly she passed at the young age of 45 due to a stroke.
