The Tuesday Song of the Week

This week's TSOTW speaks to many of us who are stuck home with almost nothing to do

That 'us' doesn't refer to moi.  I always have stuff to do here.

Anyway...

'I'm Bored' - Iggy Pop

pillow talk

We haven't talked pillows in quite some time.

So let's do that now.

Wanna see a picture?

A couple of my FB friends have posted requesting people send in their own landscape photos. so we can all see different parts of the world, or the country, or the what have you.

The only requirement is that the poster not be in the photo.

I probably have a ton of photos I've taken of this or that landscape, but I think this one is pretty neat.

Since it's actually a cityscape,

the city being London in 1984.  During this time I was in the UK for three months at the University of Exeter.  (If you would like to send me a few thou so I can go back, or many many thou so I can move there, convo me)

What's so neato about this image is that the guy is wearing a bowler hat, which I thought was one of those things consigned to the hatbox of history circa 1932.

Bag O' the Day

The Star Made Me Buy It

Today's star is well on his way to being forgotten.

Bert Parks for Vitalis
For years Bert was the MC for the Miss America Pageant.

The pageant has pretty much fallen off the radar.  Or at least off of my radar.

Back in the day, EVERYBODY - even if they hadn't watched the pageant - knew who the latest Miss America was.

The last Miss America I can name is Kaye Lani Rae Rafko, and that's only because she has such a long name.

Fun fact: on one of the telecasts, Bert opened the show by singing the Wings song 'Let 'Em In.'

That made my little brother laugh so hard, I thought we were going to have to call 911 before he popped an artery.

Watch it on YouTube !

Bag O' the Day

My intention today was to show you one of my marvelous little wristlets, but it turns out they're all out of stock.

So a tote bag it is.

But what a tote bag!

A real charmer.

And, like all the bags in my shop it was made in the USA.

Here it be:

I found that cute little toy clown in a thrift store. then photographed it on my porch.  Now it's on everything from bags to mugs to tiles to pillows to... well a whole bunch of stuff you can see here:

The Star Made Me Buy It

Today's star is...
Ray Milland for Personna Blades

Unlike most of the other actors from the UK, who still sounded British/Welsh/Scottish throughout their US careers, I don't recall Ray Milland sounding even remotely not American.

The Tuesday Song of the Week

I love love love this.

Loved it even before I got to see Nabucco, which I did around 2013.  Opera Philadelphia on a Sunday in October.

It was beyond awesome.

'Va Pensiero' (aka 'Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves') - Albano Carrisi
