The Tuesday Song of the Week

Today's TSOTW comes from Nick Lowe.
'So It Goes' - Nick Lowe

Here's my Nick Lowe story:

Back in the 1980s my boyfriend at the time and I went to an Elvis Costello concert.  Nick Lowe was the opening act, and he was FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC.

Elvis?  Not so much.  The guy had a bug up his butt the size of a Toyota.  At one point, people began yelling 'Bring back Nick Lowe !!!!!'

Bag o' the Day

Today's bag features a WWII print of Uncle Sam,

looking all heroic like.

If you're in the market for a patriotic tote bag, this is the one to get:

Note that Uncle appears on both sides of the bag, in mirror image.

Which is cool.

latest antiques and untiques

The super cute, super unique, and super all that:

Super cute cuteness!  Kitty Cucumber is in the house !!!!!

Kitty Cucumber was soooooooooooo cute, and soooooooooo sweet, as were all the Kitty Cucumber-related items.

For the life of me I cannot understand why Kitty Cucumber ceased manufacture in the early 1990s, when those hideous horrible gawdawful Precious Moments figurines are still being made.

Sorry.  Had to vent my spleen.

Let's get back to the cute and the sweet:

This charmer, which can hang on your wall is dated 1992, and titled
'Dance 'Round the Maypole'

==========================================================================
Here we have the super unique in the form of something REALLY neato,
i.e. a miniature enamel change purse aka coin purse

=======================================================================
Now for the super all that:
 a figural flower frog
feauturing a crane

 Next we have mirrored wall shelves:   SOLD

  A PAIR of mirrored wall shelves, i.e. you're getting both of them for one money,
as the auctioneers say.
========================================================================
Lastly, but not leastly,
the super all that-est of the super all that:

PERFECT for your upcoming Oscar party:
'A Complete Portrait Collection of Academy Award Winners -
Best Actor Award and Best Actress Award'

The Star Made Me Buy It

Today's star is Fred MacMurray.

This is our second post with Fred, the previous one was for Jeris Hair Stuff.  That one, as well as this one, mentions Fred starring in Family Honeymoon, which came out in 1949.

Bag o' the Day

Today's bag is something we haven't had before,

i.e. a backpack, featuring a fantastic image from the labor movement of the early 20th century, which depicts a prisoner enjoining others in the movement to...

'Remember!  We are in here for you, and you are out there for us.
Something awesome for the union member, labor attorney, and/or anyone interested in American history and/or way cooler than average backpacks.
