The Tuesday Song of the Week

 This is one of the craziest things I ever heard.

But it works.  Sort of.

The Star Made Me Buy It

 Today's star is someone I'd never think would get his face on an ad.

But oh, did they make good use of it...

Henry Daniell for Bacardi

This didn't come from my collection - somebody posted it on FB - but still bo cool, no?

The date of the ad is 1963, which was the year he passed away.  On Halloween, if you can believe that.

True fact, though.

He looks very slightly like a guy I was once in love with.

Poodlepalooza

A few weeks back I was contacted by an old friend, who is interested in dissolving several of his collections.

One of which is a VERY large collection of Lefton poodles.

How large?

Over a HUNDRED of 'em !!!

Wanna see some?

Tuesday Song of the Week

Suh'm awesome and VERY memorable:

'You Are In My System' - Robert Palmer

The first time I saw this video was at a skating rink I'd gone to with a friend.  I was SO blown away by Mr. Palmer.

The skating rink, not so much.  Either it was the crowd, or the whatever else, but I wanted to leave.  Even though we hadn't been there for more than 15 minutes.

fun stuff from my sewing pattern store

Got some newer stuff - UNCUT! - as well as some older stuff, some of which is also - UNCUT!

Although there are only 50 or so patterns in the shop currently, I literally have HUNDREDS more in my magical attic of wonders.

From 1961
UNCUT !!
=======================================================================

from 1962   SOLD
UNCUT !!
===========================================================================

We be having leisure suits     SOLD

as well as other crazy retro men's fashions

Neither are uncut, but are still perfectly usable.
============================================================================

         And from the same era    SOLD
not uncut either.  Sill perfectly usable.

All my patterns are complete, including directions, and are either uncut or in perfectly usable condition.  Anything that doesn't meet that criteria ends up with my paper recycling.

Bag o' the Day

Today's bag has a very sweet image, from a 1919 song sheet:

'Everybody Takes You By the Hand in Home Sweet Home'

Last year I hit two boxes of 1910s and 1920s sheet music at two different flea markets.  Some VERY marvelous covers, and several have already made it into my Zazzle store.

Go here for this bag:

September's first antiques and untiques

It would blow your entire mind if you knew how much awesome awesomeness is still in the pipeline.

But here's what we have for your today:

exquisite repoussé jewelry box

==========================================================================

art nouveau wall sconces SOLD
 ========================================================================

another example of antique metal, this in the shape of a 1920s compote SOLD

==========================================================================

four marvelous COLORFUL place settings of Lenox Ware, late of St. Louis, MO, melamine
SOLD

dinner plates in sage green, blue, pink and yellow
(note that the green is greener in person)

bread plates in blue, sage green, and pink

cups and saucers in green, blue, yellow, and pink

=============================================================================

Next up, sometime from slightly later, i.e. the 1970s.

Ladies and gentleman - but mostly ladies - I give you the carrot print halter dress

That Emily M. label showing the size as 11/12, is actually showing the 1970s version of size 0/2.  So while the dress is huge in awesomeness and also vegan appeal - what's more vegan that carrots? -- it's very small in size.
==========================================================================

Back from later to slightly earlier, time-wise...

1960s Dream Pets dog chillin' on her surfboard SOLD

resting on her elbows like all cool people -- and stuffed toy dogs - do.

When I was a kid, my oldest brother worked as a busboy at Howard Johnson.  Almost every time he came home, it was with a Dream Pet he'd gotten for me from the gift shop.

Wish I still had them all.
==========================================================================

Speeding ahead in time, we have this beauty from the 1980s...

from Unique Creations of San Francisco SOLD

Can anyone tell me if Unique Creations is still in business?  Seems they haven't posted to Facebook since 2018.
=====================================================================

That's all for now, but as previously mentioned, sooooooo much more in the pipeline.  (And although not mentioned, soooooooooo much more going into the pipeline)
