The Tuesday Song of the Week

I thought today's Tuesday Song of the Week was by The Spiral Staircase, but when I popped that in I got The Spiral Staircase singing 'Love You More Today than Yesterday.'  It was worth it to get lost, because I always thought that song was by The Association.

Anyway, the correct name of today's group is the Five Stairsteps
'Ooh Child' - The Five Stairsteps

Stuff I'm interested in

I've always been super super interested in the British royal family.  They're like a soap opera that moves slightly faster than TV soap operas, plus the cast is so much more interesting that the pretty dullards on TV soaps.

Anyway, I love this pic.  Have never seen Prince Charles look happier, nor look more like an ordinary non-royal person:

latest Made in USA print fabrics

These actually aren't my latest print fabrics, they're just the ones that came after the last ones you've seen here.

We got some awesome stuff for you, to wit...

All the humanities
 =======================================================================

Oh the cute beagles
 ======================================================================

Oh the opulence
 =======================================================================

OK, how here's the reason I haven't been posting fabrics.
It's because many in my store display a background color that I did not specify.
For example, for the below image, I specified a bright white background.
But what I got, as you can clearly see, is a gray background.
 I've contacted Zazzle customer service SEVERAL times asking about why this happens, and I'm still waiting for an answer.
========================================================================

We got SUPER-cute kitty cats
 =======================================================================

And we aim to please

========================================================================
BTW...

As always...

Know this: The watermark is NOT on the actual fabric (which I'm most of you already know).  It's only there to protect my followers from flying monkeys. Which most of you already know.

Know also:

All of the above available in three kinds of cotton, two kinds of polyester, and two kinds of linen.

All of the above are Made in USA.

All of the above are rare and awesome and epic.

The Tuesday Song of the Week

Had the hardest time finding this version.

All the other versions were slow-ish, and lacking energy.

That's not how I roll.

Enjoy.

Labor Union history

Something neato from the bad old days:

It's impossible to over-estimate how awful things were back in the day for coal miners and factory workers and share-croppers.  Tons of info about this shameful history on the 'net.

What we got is something rare and awesome from the movement in 1917, a perfect gift for the labor organizer, labor activist, history teacher, or anyone else interested in American history:

FELLOW WORKERS:

Stuff I'm interested in

I'm all kinds of interested - and always have been - with sub-cultures.

The Amish, motorheads, nuns, book club ladies, gay male antiques dealers, the British Royal Family, Hasidics, and on and on.  I am also super-interested in cemeteries.

Today, amma show you a photo I saved from a New York Times (I think it was the NYT) from a few years ago.   It came with a tragic story of a Hasidic couple getting killed in a taxi accident.  The photo was from their wedding.

That wild thing on his head is a shtreimel, from the fur approximately 30 dead animals.  Shtreimels cost from a grand up to $5000 or so.  The coat he's wearing is not the one you usually see Hasidic men wearing, but I have been unsuccessful in finding out what it's called.

The very pretty bride's gown is pretty typical for a Hasidic wedding, since Haredi (synonym for Hasidic) women are forbidden to show much skin.  If her particular community was REALLY hardcore, the day after her wedding, her head would have been completely shaved, and a wig plopped on it.

Interesting, no?

Yes.

The Tuesday Song of the Week

Mug of the Month

You may be out looking for a car today.  Usually the car companies advertise big sales and big doings on Monday holidays.

Unlikely, however, that you are out there looking for an antique luxury car.  I guess you could be, though.  I dunno.  I'm not you.  You're you, but I'm not.

Anyway, if you'd like to have an antique luxury car, but either don't have the shekels or the room in your garage, you could get a mug featuring the luxuriously luxurious 1939 Packard.

See?
Get it here:
