The Star Made Me Buy It

Today's star had a very long career,

and was kinda pretty.

Loretta Young in a 1944 ad for RC Cola

In addition to letting us all know that RC is her favorite cola, she goes all patriotic at the bottom of the ad:

I've only see her in The Bishop's Wife, and bits and pieces of other movies.

Her daughter Judy Lewis's memoir is sorta a must-read.  Judy was the daughter of Loretta and Clark Gable, and she absolutely looked like both of them, so her Loretta's claim that she 'adopted her,' must have been thought of as total BS by the peeps in Hollywood.

The 'Me Too' crowd has alleged that Clark Gable raped her, which itself is total BS.  Everybody who worked on The Call of the Wild, remembered the pair being verrry friendly with one another.  If you know what I mean.

He was catnip for any and all red-blooded women, so probably all he needed to do was crook his little finger and they'd come running.

I know I would have.

This is HILARIOUS: during rehearsals for a play I was in, one of the guys would enter stage left, and do that spin and flourish thing she would do at the beginning of her TV show.  He was straight, hairy to the max, and about 280 pounds.  Remembering that still makes me laugh.
