Today's star is somebody I'd never ever expect to find advertising anything.
Monty Woolley for Ethyl Corporation
He's most famous, I think, for playing the lead in The Man Who Came to Dinner. A movie I don't care for, because it seems to be one of those deals where the playwright (this began life on Broadway) was just trying to outdo some other 'in the know' competitor. Ann Sheridan is channeling Gertrude Lawrence, for one, and Banjo, is obviously Harper Marx. The lead is based on Alexander Wollcott, a Broadway critic back in the day. Color me bored.
He had a great role in The Bishop's Wife. That's a film I can recommend.
