According to some people I know who work with little kids, no kid today is able to identify the above as a phone. 

And even many of those who are able to say, 'Yeah, that's a phone.  A princess phone, in fact,' don't remember that back in the day most of these phones were RENTED from the phone company.

One of the great things about these old phones is that if you home had more than one, using the same phone number and all, if you were careful, you could pick up the other phone while someone was on a call, and listen in to both sides of the conversation.
