The art on these hugely popular and thoroughly adorable vintage cat postcards was actually done by Swiss artist Eugen Hurtung. It's a shame more people don't know that. (Mr. Mainzer was just the publisher.)
In addition to cards with cats wearing clothes and doing things people don't generally do, he also did a few with mice, and I think I may have seen some with rabbits.
Chaos at the ticket window!
I can actually see this happening, considering how popular the accessory of a live dog-ling is with certain people.
Madness on the ferry!
I don't ride ferries generally, so I can't attest to the verisimilitude of the above.
Badminton gone bananas!
This one I can relate to. See the naughty little customer in the green shirt bonking the little Siamese on the head with a racquet? I got the same thing going on at home, except without the clothes and the sporting goods.
The party of the first part is Starlin, the baby of the family. Sweet, loveable, innocent and, unfortunately for her, somewhat timid and not much for defending herself.
Isn't she cute?
The party of the second part is former baby of the family, Ivy Spivington. I don't know if she's motivated by jealousy or she does it just because she can, but once too often she viciously attacks her little sister.
Doesn't she looks like one of those miscreants on Law & Order who pretend to be asleep when the cops come calling?
