Send in the clowns.

Now, normally, I lump clown paintings in with cheapo milk glass bud vases and 1960's Christmas compilation lps issued by the major oil companies, i.e. you couldn't pay me to waste my hard-earned money on them.  

But then I found these, painted by a lady named Lilly Mara:

Amazingly well-done, I think.  And even though I personally have zero interest in clowns, I'm guessing that the clown-buying public will be all over them.

You'll find Ms. Mara's name in a couple of places on the web.  Practically nothing is known about her, except that she was obviously a talented artist.
