And Moonbeam Citrus fruit crate label in throw pillow form

Roy G. Biv - green

Fourth in our series of the colors of the rainbow,

here's some merchandise that's got some green in it:

a Kelly-Springfields tire ad in tapestry form.
Found in a 1920s Broadway playbill.   In each and every one of these playbills -- and I have a bunch of them -- there's a full color Kelly-Springfields ad.
 =======================================================================

Not a lot of green, but what's here is awesome, and awesomely Victorian.

green as in green beans.  Or sugar peas.

The Tuesday Song of the Week

I heard this song first a hundred years ago, while on a KLM flight from Amsterdam to the US.

They had some kinda thingie on the seat where you could listen to music.

Well, two songs.

On was 'It's Not Unusual'

The other was our Tuesday Song of the Week.  Heard both maybe 20 times each over the 8-hour flight.

'Israelites' - Desmond Dekker & the Aces

Roy G. Biv - yellow

Third in our series featuring all the colors of the rainbow, in order of their appearance in the spectrum.

Today we got yellow.

Dream a little dream of Dream World.
It makes a VERY attractive tapestry.
 =======================================================================

Why wear the same boring unexciting neckties everyone else wears when you could wear one with the print of an old Flav-R-Pac Cherries label???
 =======================================================================

A clock to remind you that ignoring time can be... dangerous.  And scary.  Really scary.

My kitty crossed the Rainbow Bridge today

Tippy was always quite the... calico.  As in she -- like all calicos in multi-cat households -- appointed herself Lead Cat.

We were together through thick and VERY thin: a year or so after I adopted her, I was this () far from living in my car.  If she and the rest of the furmily hadn't needed me, I don't know where I'd be right now.  But more than likely not here.  They kept me going.

Her little body had been failing her over the last couple of months, until I finally had to realize the time had come for her to leave her furry dwelling and return to her Maker.

I do not believe that she is 'dead.'  The body she lived in is dead, true.  But she - her spirit, her personality, her comical streak -- are alive and always will be.

Roy G. Biv - orange

The next from a series I started yesterday, featuring three more items with the second color of the spectrum,

to wit: orange
We have the carrot man on a clock
========================================================================

and the tongue-cut sparrow of Japanese legend on a pinback button

======================================================================
and a messenger bag graced with an ad for Gaby Tan, 'the lotion that does something.'
Note that the actual image is NOT blurry-ish.
That's just the fault of my photo-editing program.

Or

red

Them's the color spectrum.

For the next week, amma list 3 items per day per color.  (Except for Sunday, my day of rest and not posting.)

So here's red:
We got the King of Hearts on a throw pillow

On the other side of which is the Queen of Hearts!
Note that the store has waaaayyyyy more stuff graced with these two, and will soon have similar featuring the King, Queens, and Jacks of Diamonds, Spades, and Clubs.

Note that these do not look at all blurry in person.  Any blurry-ness is 100% the fault of my photo editing dealie.

The Tuesday Song of the Week

Sorry I missed last week, but I was doing my standardized patient dealie up in Philly all day, and by the time I got home, I was too enervated.

(For more info on my standardized patient dealie, see the October 11, 2011 post.)

Anyway, on to what you came for:

'Cast Your Fate to the Wind' - Sounds Orchestral

latest vintage ties, retro ties cool ties

The vintage, the retro AND the cool, all in one place!!

Here's what we got today:

From a 1922 issue of Photoplay

 I'm guessing the lady in the crazy get-up might be Mae Murray, but I'm not 100% certain.

Note that the original image is a muddy sepia.  I'm the one who rendered it in the above colors.  No need to thank me.
============================================================================

 More from the 1920s, in the form of this Kelly-Springfields tire ad image,
from a 1926 or so Broadway playbill in my possession.
=============================================================================

Maybe the 1920s or maybe the 1930s, but definitely not later.
From my recent huhYOOGE haul of old fruit crate labels.
===========================================================================

An print decades older than those above, from an 1880s book I have on animal husbandry.
