your Daily Double or GETGETGETGETGET

Happy Monday!

Let's get started.
Halloween is coming, which makes this one particularly apt.
Bob's flesh-eating infection was simply moving too fast for him to make it to the emergency room on time.  Bob and his buddy at the wheel can be had on decals -- greeting cards -- neckties -- t-shirts -- placemats (!) -- napkins (!!) -- ceramic tiles -- wall clocks -- mugs -- mouse pads -- tote bags and MORE!!
Go to: http://zazzle.com/The_Olden_Eye?rf=238225004668148127 and in the 'Search this store' box enter 'Bob'

Now onto some thing a little happier...'
Oops, that one's a little over-watermarked, but in the Halloween season there IS a greater possibility that you or someone you love could be spirited away by a flying monkey.  Only watermarks can protect you from this.  Nevertheless note that NONE of my Zazzle stuff has in reality a watermark on it.  Not one thing.

So anyway, onto this neat Ziegfeld Follies program cover from 1927.  You can get it on notebooks -- plaques -- jigsaw puzzles -- boxes of various kinds -- cloth napkins (!) -- ceramic tiles -- wall clocks -- dart boards (!!) -- coasters -- buttons -- decals/skins -- t-shirts -- greeting cards -- mouse pads -- tote bags and MORE.    Go to:  http://zazzle.com/The_Olden_Eye?rf=238225004668148127 and enter 'Ziegfeld'  Note that a bunch more 1920s Ziegfeld stuff pops up, too!!

your Daily Double or LOOKIT LOOKIT LOOOKIT

Lookit!

MORE of my awesome pillows!!

As mentioned yesterday, those little boxes in the lower right corner of the images aren't on the pillows themselves.  They're there to give buyers an idea of the shape of the pillow.   Why they need that I have no idea.  But that's me.  You may think differently.  Or not.  I really don't know.

The Lady's Letter-Writer: Letter XXIX

Letter XXIX
From a Servant, refusing Addresses

Brooklyn, April 4, 18--

Sir:-- I do not know what could have led you to believe I had any partiality for you.  Such is not the case.  I wish you well, as I have no reason for wishing you otherwise, but I have no desire for any attentions from you of any kind.

                                                                                Yours,

new old vintage!

New to you,

but old, if you can follow that in any way.

1970s cotton pink heather skirt with double pockets!
EXACTLY the same style of skirt my 7th grade sewing class tried to sew.
But professionally made, and therefore not the mess that the skirt I made was.

Now we have another bo desirable item, to wit: a 1950s lucite handbag.
 Gold confetti lucite!!

Now back to attire:
      maaavelous 1960s lace babydoll dress
Those wonderful bell sleeves are over 30" in circumference!!!!!!!

Now something from a little later, by the great Mr. Dino

And now for something oh so simple and sweet, same era:

Early 1980s, and no doubt inspired by Urban Cowboy

It's hard to imagine today the impact of that movie on the sheeple.  If you could go back in time to summer 1980 on the boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ, you'd see that about 2/3 of the crowd was wearing cowboy hats.

UPDATE: Most of the above are sold.

your Daily Double or GET GET GET GETGETGET

I was too busy yesterday -- so busy I forget exactly what I was busy with -- to post a Daily Double, so today you're getting a double double.  Which is nice.

Cinderella, the prince, her wicked stepsisters, and the prince's banner holder guy.
You can get Cinders and her peeps on greeting cards -- decals/skins -- tshirts -- neckties -- notebooks -- memo pads -- plaques -- trinket boxes -- wall clocks -- mouse pads -- tote bags -- mugs -- buttons -- keychains, and one or two more must-have items.
Go to: www.zazzle.com/the_olden_eye/products and enter 'Cinderella'

Two dogs from 1914.
Interestingly, back then little children's books (not real 'books'  more like folded pages of paper in small book size) were including in the Sunday newspaper.  The above came from one of those. AND those dogs appeared in more than one book.  I have to dig up the book they came from, and then I'll post their names.  You can get these fellas on greeting cards -- notebooks -- note pads -- mugs -- mouse pads -- tote bags -- t-shirts -- trinket boxes -- dinner plates (!) -- coasters -- wrapping paper aka gift wrap -- aprons and MORE MORE MORE!  Go to: www.zazzle.com/the_olden_eye/products and enter 'two dogs'

Curly the Mustache Man is in the house!
He's available on notebooks -- wrapping paper aka giftwrap aka gift wrap -- boxes of various sorts -- plates -- wall clocks -- playing cards -- mugs -- mouse pads -- tote bags -- skins/decals -- t-shirts -- neckties -- greeting cards and MORE.  Go to: www.zazzle.com/the_olden_eye/products  and enter mustache'

Dad's building a fire in order to brew some joe
Maybe they forgot to bring food, and all they have is coffee.  I don't know.  Just seems to me that if you're out camping, coffee wouldn't be a priority, but then again, my camping experience is limited and my family camping experience is zilch.  The above can be had on postcards and greeting cards -- neckties -- t-shirts -- letterhead -- notebooks -- plaques -- jigsaw puzzles -- ceramic tiles -- mouse pads -- tote bags -- wall clocks -- mugs -- skins/decals, MORE.  Go to: www.zazzle.com/the_olden_eye/products and enter 'campsite'

the Tuesday Song of the Week

This week's song -- which is not a song exactly, it's an instrumental -- comes with a very fun/stupid memory from my childhood.*

'Zorba the Greek' - Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass

*I was maybe age 5 or 6 and at the home of one of my little friends up the street, and we were sitting on the lawn.  Somebody had this song coming out of their radio, and when the piece slowed down, we began pulling handfuls of grass out of the lawn at the same speed.  When it sped up, be began pulling up the grass faster, and when it went back to its original tempo, we tore the grass up as fast as we could.

Good times.

presenting...

Her Royal Highness, Princess Pitcher.
She's a somewhat larger size cream pitcher or somewhat smaller size regular pitcher.  And SHE IS IN MINT CONDITION.  Know that what looks like damage is glare and only glare.

There be dragons

on my vintage Japanese dragonware.

Divine, no?
Note that the above is one of your last opportunities to see something photographed on my City of Bothersome Love porch, on accounta me and the hubbage be moving in a couple months.  So enjoy it while you can.

Equally divine.

and even more so.

All of the above are resting comfortably in my Etsy shop, waiting for you.  I've divided up all three -- the pot, the creamer and sugar bowl set, the cups and saucers -- into three listings.  There may be some teapot/coffee pot collectors that don't want the other pieces, or people with partial sets of dragonware cups and saucers that already have the other pieces, yada yada.  Makes it easier for everyone.

Now go get 'em:  www.etsy.com/shop/PeaceableAntiques

Can you ear me?

Out of all the categories of jewelry -- necklaces, brooches, bracelets, earrings -- my least favorite are earrings. Nevertheless, I recently found three pairs of awesome AWESOME vintage earrings, now waiting for you in my Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/bijoux4youx

First up, these utter beauties...

Here's another view.

These are super super neat and BIG.
 Like two full inches big.

Both of the above on clip on/clip back earrings.  These sweet damascene earrings are, quite obviously, for pierced ears.
Note that they look way sweeter in person.
