For everyone who's waiting for a dream to come true in 2016:
'I Knew You Were Waiting' - Aretha Franklin and George Michael

Got some bo cray cray Murad images in the store. (My punk name this week will be Bo Craycray.)

the Tuesday Song of the Week

Nothing cooler than an all-male choir, especially when it comes to Christmas carol-singing.

'O Holy Night' - Cwmbach Male Choir

this 'n that

My Zazzle store is so so full of such such amazingly amazing stuff.  If you end up not getting what you want for Christmas/Hanukkah/Festivus, you could certainly get something equally satisfying there.

Such as...
scary wrapping paper.

Not exactly a suitable replacement for the gift you didn't get, but entertaining to look at, and to envision what you'll wrap with it in future.

Then we have...

A clock from an ad for a 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk.  I've already sold a bunch of these, but do you have yours yet??

Now, it's too late for this year, but for next year you or someone you love/like/tolerate is gonna LOVE this:
Isn't that the cutest thing EVER?

Answer: Yes.

See more, get more here: https://www.zazzle.com/the_olden_eye/products

In the 'Search This Store' box, enter either 'Studebaker' or 'Christmas' or 'scary'

the Tuesday Song of the Week

This week we got a forgotten crooner, who was a big star in the 1930's and '40s.

'Dance Ballerina Dance' - Buddy Clark

Mr. Clark (born Samuel Goldberg) would probably been one of the Frank Sinatra/Tony Bennett/Perry Como type stars of the 1950s and later, but was killed in a plane crash in 1949.

1939 Lincoln Zephyr

A mind-bogglingly beautiful automobile,
 available on mind-bogglingly awesome stuff!
Like cufflinks, and throw blankets (as seen above above),
and also pillows.  And shirts, and clocks and watches, and computer/phone accessories, and mugs and magnets and MORE.

the Tuesday Song of the Week

This week's selection isn't for everyone, but if you can stand it, it's worth a listen:

'Prenzlauerberg' - Beirut

According to AllMusic.com, Beirut's music is a mash of Balkan folk and electronica.

Here's some REAL Balkan folk.  It's crazy fast, not lumbering as the piece above:

'Briu' - Taraf de Haïdouks

By the by, if you ever find yourself in the City of Bothersome Love, and you want to hear some kickin' brass-heavy and BO awesome Balkan music, see if you can find where and when the West Philadelphia Orchestra is playing.  Here's their website: http://wpo.westphiladelphiaorchestra.com/

fairytale wedding

or 'fairy tale wedding'

Your choice.

Now, if you've been invited to a fairytale wedding (or fairy tale wedding), you could certainly used this:

fairy tale wedding print wrapping paper to wrap your gift.  (Note that the paper is NOT NOT NOT blurry as it appears above.)

if it's your wedding that's the fairytale wedding/fairy tale wedding, you could give a few of these very neat...

...wallets to your bridesmaids, to show your appreciation.  (Note that these aren't blurry in real life either.)

OR if it's your fairytale/fairy tale wedding, and you're a generous and appreciative-type bride, you could give your bridesmaids these...

messenger bags.

Which are lovely, useful, and will always remind them of your marvelous fairy tale/fairytale wedding.

Get all of the above - plus MORE MORE MORE fairy tale wedding stuff -- here:

gone fishin'

Lotsa people, including men, like to fish.

newest (old. very old) stuffs

Which includes, but is surely not limited to:

crazy hand-painted teapot
featuring looks like a Balkan or Turkish dignitary.   That's Lucinda in the background.

He appears both on the body of the teapot AND the lid. Which is cool.

Not to be outdone, we got...
spice-containing chicken thingies, perfect for the country or chicken-intensive decor.

Next up, the wicked cool double slot letter holder or napkin holder or both.

Because it has two sections.

And lastly (for this post of new old stuffs, but I got more I haven't even done nothing with yet), we got cute sock monkeys.

On YouTube today's Tuesday Song of the Week is identified as 'soul.'

My idea of soul is something slowish and angsty-ish, like 'Ain't No Sunshine.'

Today's entry is up-tempo and very boppy.
