Today's star is the tragic Gail Russell for Jurgens Lotion...
She did not enjoy enjoy acting, but someone on set suggested she have a drink, and that might calm down her jitters.
One drink let to another and another and another..., until she began a full blown alcoholic.
She was found dead in her apartment at age 36, an empty liquor bottle by her side.
Last week I got an AMAZING haul at a Salvation Army store that I rarely find anything at.
You'll see some of that haul in the next week or so.

I had the idea to post a Dick Haymes song today, and landed on 'The More I See You,' which turned out to be a very slow version of the same song Chris Montez made a hit.

Found in my change a couple weeks ago:
1965 quarter and 1966 quarter
I had a handful of change from the supermarket, and noticed a sound that didn't sound like regular change. At first I thought I'd been given some foreign coins.
I'm guessing these sounded that way because they have a bit more heft than contemporary quarters. They stopped using real silver in these coins in mid-1965, and mine is clearly after that date if you inspect the side of the coin. But I think even so, it weighs more than a 2023 quarter.
Kinda astonishing to think they've been circulating for more than 50 years.
I thought I'd already posted this charmer, but it turns out I haven't.
