Your mouse pad is boring.

You know it is.

And I know it is.

That's a problem.

However, it is a problem with an easy solution.

How?

Why?

The answer is that my shop has over SIX HUNDRED (or, if you prefer, over 600) different mouse pads.

Not a bore in the bunch.

Wanna see some?

(as always, note that the watermarks are not on
the actual items, and are only here to protect YOU
from flying monkeys.)

Speaking of flying, ain't this a dilly?

And then there were nun

Or nuns.

Plural.
Actually, they're all the same nun, who looks to be about age 18.

But who was probably somewhere in her early 20s.

I wonder if she stuck with it

And if so, I wonder if she's still wearing the habit or what.

Above was a real live nun; following is La Belle Otero (google her) masquerading as a nun.

His name was Lester

Above is his baby picture from 2013.

I met Lester on Ash Wednesday, 2013.  When I exited my car to attend a noon Ash Wednesday service, I was approached by a lady wringing her hands about a kitten crying in the church yard.

Instantly, I climbed into the church yard, captured the kitten, handed him off to a crossing guard who was on the corner outside the church yard, then climbed out.

I put the kitten in a box in my car.  The car was still warm - at that time of year the heat in my car is ramped up to the high heavens.

When the service was over, there was the kitten still chilling in the box.

I took him home, then took him to the vet to be examined, then named him Lester.

He was always a very very good boy.

A year or two ago, he came down with kidney stones.  After getting treated, he was back to normal.

The stones returned in force three weeks ago.  The vet said only once in his career had he seen a cat with as many stones as Lester had.

Lester got surgery, but even after a two weeks on pain meds, it was apparent that he was still very uncomfortable.  This past weekend, he stopped eating.  I ran him to the vet on Sunday.  Later that day, I was told that his kidney enzymes (or whatever they're called)  were  waayyy too high.  And yesterday, his kidneys shut down completely.

It's currently 5:32 where I live (Cape May County), and approximately 24 hours ago, Lester crossed the Rainbow Bridge, a little shy of his 5th birthday.

He will be sorely missed.

RIP

I'm somebody with very bad luck, as in

all my favorite actors - the ones that set my gizzard aflutter - have this horrible habit of dying on me.

Raul Julia - 1994

Dennis Farina - 2013

Alan Rickman - 2016

And just a few days ago, on January 15 went this guy:

Peter Wyngarde - 2018

I didn't see him in a whole lot of things - a very memorable spot on The Avengers and another on The Prisoner, and the last 15 minutes of an episode of I Spy.  But he was pretty much the very very hottest hottest hottie ever to appear in a horror movie.

A very classy, rather intelligent horror movie at that.  Even without his insane deliciousness, it's well worth seeing.

The US title is Burn Witch, Burn.  Original UK title is The Night of the Eagle.

Here's the trailer:

The only thing I remember from The Madness of King George is when Queen Charlotte told some heavily pregnant woman that she had to stand (for what event I forget) and that she should suck it up because Queen Charlotte herself had given birth to fifteen kids.
